Pros & Cons of LG UQ8000

We have reviewed LG UQ8000 and looked at its specs and features. Now let’s continue our discussion with their pros and cons.

Pros

1. Good Viewing Angle

LG UQ8000 comes with IPS panel that allows this TV to deliver wide viewing angle. With Wide Viewing Angle, we can still enjoy good details when we are watching this TV from any side viewing angle.

2. Great Smart Features and Remote Control

The operating system of LG UQ8000 is WebOS 22. WebOS 22 comes with improvements from WebOS 6.0. It already supports multiple users so that we can have multiple customizations for better watching experience. We can also find Remote Control with Magic Tap included with LG UQ8000. Besides its ability to control this TV conveniently with smart functions (point, click, scroll, voice), we can also use Magic Tap to easily connect our smartphone with this TV. LG UQ8000 also supports Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit/Air Play 2.

3. Lower Price

LG UQ8000 is one of the most affordable 4K LED Smart TV from LG. It’s also relatively lower in price than its comparable basic 4K LED TV from Samsung and Sony.

 Cons

1. Mediocre Contrast

LG UQ8000 already supports HDR10 and HLG. But we can find that its HDR (as well as SDR) contrast ratio is quite mediocre. So, we can’t expect an excellent contrast between the brightest and darkest part of the TV screen.

2. Basic Color Quality

The color quality delivered by LG UQ8000 is quite basic. It still can’t deliver Wide Color Gamut while its color volume is quite limited.

3. Less Excellent Gaming

LG UQ8000 only comes with 60Hz native refresh rate. It also doesn’t come with any HDMI 2.1. With only 60Hz native refresh rate and the absence of HDMI 2.1, the gaming experience delivered by LG UQ8000 is less excellent.

The pros and cons of LG UQ8000 can be summarized with the table below.

  1. What size are screws that mount tv to wall ( in insert paper said M6 ) not included with tv. Are they available?

  2. Apparently the 86″ version not only has the alpha 7 gen 5 processor, but also has a 120 hz panel as well. 75″ and lower have 60 hz per the LG website.
